Photographer's Note

This was a long time the view I had from my office to the so-called Kölnberg (Cologne Hill) in Cologne-Meschenich. It is an architectural sin from the seventies. Built at the edge of a village on a cabbage field it still remains after 30 years an alien element there. 7700 people live in Meschenich - alone 4000 from over 60 countries in the Kölnberg. Not hard to imagine how it changed life in this village not far away from Cologne. It started as a well-meant project but is now a social flashpoint. But, as we can see very often, the ugliness can appeal to the eye.
Thanks for looking.
