Photographer's Note

Benedictine Abbey Maria Laach is not only famous as a religious centre of high importance with a magnificent library. It is also a place of art and horticulture, and - almost unknown - the site of an annual autumn school for high energy physics.

This image was taken on ASA 800 film while onboard a Junkers Ju 52 oldtimer flying across the Eifel hills. I would have preferred to show entire Laacher See, but was forced to cut away the complete upper part due to some nasty window reflection.
