[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
This is der Schnelefant ;-) (English: Snowlephant, Dutch: Sneeuwlifant, Danish: Snelefant, Swedish: Snölefant) of der Zoologischer Garten (Zoological Garden) in Berlin.

The Zoo in Berlin is the oldest one in Germany and one of the largest in the world with around 14,000 animals and 1,500 different species (I read a lot of different numbers here, but these are from the official website of the Zoo). It was opened in 1844 on the initiative of Alexander von Humboldt and the Africa researcher Lichtenstein.
Das Elefantentor (Elephant-gate) is the entrance next to the aquarium in Budapester Straße. The gate was built in 1899, destroyed during the war and reconstructed in 1984.

When I saw this elephant, I liked the snow on him, so I took this picture.

Hope you like it too!

And if you do like this one, you maybe also like my other (old) elephant-picture.

Lars,

Hi Lars. I like the snow on this elephant too. It is so considerate. Your shot is very clear with good details. Well done

Regards John

Hi Lars,
Is the Snolefant family of the crocodelifant?
groetjes Rob

Hi Lars, A nice closeupview of the scapture. The snow made a fresh contrast to the photo. A lot of details; nice DOF.

I'm glad you categorized this under humorous! I can appreciate that our snow elephant is covered with snow. You have a good framing of this shot too. Another nice shot from Berlin!

Hoi Lars!
Goed werk!

Hi Lars,
another nice shot of your Berlin travelogue. Your notes are always very informative! Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Thorsten

Hello Lars, it is beautiful as composition but I think that one would have to see a little more on the top of the photograph, the lantern seems to hold with nothing. The colors are beautiful as well as contrast.

Hoi Lars,
Very funny photo and also title.
Regards,
Paul

Hello Lars...
Funny picture and title! lol Nice compo...I have never seen it in Berlin...next time I will watch out!

Cheers, Léonie

I like it anyway for the whole quality and the interesting subject you are offering here.
The only thing that is missing to me is the top,of it or a proper stop that would have be the attach of the lamp.
There is also a bit too much of depth for the other elephant back we see at the right.
These are of course details I suggest in order to improve.
Compliments
Jean Michel

great work Lars, I like the elephant here, it looks frozen, well seen here, good sharp pic

Oh - what a mean looking Sneelefant or ok Snelefant ;-) - yes its seems elephants a common part of many gates around the world - for instance the gate to the brewery Carlsberg - thanks Lars for sharing.

Hi Lars,
Looking at the thumbnail I had an impression it was taken in the temples of south India. The zoo much have been a real good experience!

Regards,
@rchana

A funny compo with a good pov, even if i regret the nrj logo...

Jacques

The schnelefant does not seem to like the snow so much, he seems to be frowning. Perhaps not of the same breed as Hannibal's elephants who crossed the Alps to invade Rome a long time ago... Elephants were harder in those days, not used to comfort as this one.

All the best,

Emmanuel
