Photographer's Note

A view which was common and representative for the Federal Republic of Germany before 1990:

The Alter Zoll (Old Customs) is a fortification in immediate vicinity of Bonn University, overlooking Rhine river and originally intended to levy customs from the ships.
It underwent severe restoration of the walls recently, in the course of which the old trees on the terrace had to be cut down.
The view is still magnificent, while the terrace with several young trees and the statue of poet Ernst Moritz Arndt gives an almost naked impression.

View of the Siebengebirge (Seven Mountains) with Petersberg Hotel to the left, Drachenburg Castle (below horizon) and Drachenfels in the centre and the two skyscrapers of "Langer Eugen", centre of the Bonn UN Campus (115 m), and Post Tower (162 m), seat of Deutsche Post DHL.
