Photographer's Note

Löwenburg is a maison de plaisance, intentionally erected within Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe at Kassel (UNESCO world heritage) as an artificial ruin to serve as a private retreat for landgrave Wilhelm IX and his mistress.

The building counts among the first important examples of neogothic style in Germany and is undergoing renovation in 2019, so closeups were not advisable.
