Road to Denmark

I go a little bit south today to show you the way I went to Denmark. ;-)
This picture is taking when I was waiting for the ferry that would bring me to Denmark, in the North German town of Puttgarden.

The ferry I took sails from Puttgarden to the Danish city of Rødbyhavn on the island Lolland. The journey takes about 45 minutes and then you've crossed the Fehmarn Belt (Danish: Femernbælt) and continue your journey by car.
The ship you can see here is called 'Schleswig Holstein'.

I took this picture in quite bright cirumstances and afterwards I cropped a bit of the sky as well as the foreground.
As ever, I hope you like it! :-D It's something different than my last couple of posts.

Wonderful lines, and so much to get in - it is hard to see the ferry! Nice PoV and a really cool shot!
Thanks,
Magnus

Hi Lars,
Nice lines frome the ferry and the bridges in this picture. The colors of summer are supporting the cheerful holiday mood here.
Greetings,
hermann

Goed gedaan.
groet Rob

interesting bridges and ferry, however it looks alittle confusing, but good job

Hey Lars. Thanks again for the good note giving us even more appreciation for what we're looking at. You handled the bright light well. The framing is good in that we see all of the relevant features of the ferry. Nice catch Lars.

it doesn't look like a ferry, I thought some kind of industrial place :))
interesting, and very good composition

Hi Lars,
At first glance it looks like a building. The curve railing is a good entry point as it guides the eyes to the ferry. We have ferries here too but smaller. Just for transporting cars across a river. Nice clarity and very good lighting control. Well done!! Regards.

Bonsoir Lars,
Belle réussite.
Amitiés.
Philippe

Maybe the most amazing detail here is the complete lack of people and cars at this very busy point.
Just missed you there as I did the same trip some days before you.
Good use of details, fine compo Lars.

Hi Lars,
Nice composition, good colours, light and detail. A very well choosen POV. Nice job :)

Be well,
António

Hi Lars, This is a nice and clear shot. I like the contrast and sharpness in this picture. A very well taken photo.

Hoi Lars,
Groeten,
John.

Hey Lars, It must have been bright if you used 1/1000! Looks like a normal day shot from this capture, you did well to hide the brightness.

Not a very beautiful shot, in fact I think its quite ugly! But thats not to say its bad! Its an interesting view because we can see how the cars get onto the ferry and how the end of the ferry lifts up!

I think you probably did well cutting a bit of the sky out to concentrate on the mish mash of whites and greys, quite abstract really, we cant tell whats what!

Well taken!

Very industrial looking scene. You have taken a clear sharp photo here and it serves its purpose in your adventure

Bonjour Lars

Hello Lars
A modern dispatching platform good presented by the text and the image. Environment is completely different when I had travelled in cruising from Alexandria to Marseilles in summer 1954. Labour was very present formerly.

I simply the composition, complex but rich :
> the grass in the foreground giving the only natural touch and some colors
> the lines everywhere
> the bridge on the left, that means it's time to go
> the title quite good.
Good job.

I thought this was an interesting building from the thumbnail but it's a ferry at dock. Great zig zag lead up to the ferry. It's really dynamic like that. The large gate acts like a welcoming arch calling the eye that way away from the raised walk at left. It's a good crop, I think. Maybe having a slight bit more on the right side would frame the road into the ship better. But I like the industrial like capture of this ferry on what seemed like a warm and pleasant day. And this is also interesting for how sleepy it looks. Even the workers look a bit sleepy. It matches the type of day I think it looks like. Sort of laid back with everyone enjoying it as much as possible.

Very good use of the ascending bridge at left, and this is a good photo and a good note too.
Well shown.
I like it

Mycket bra taget
Hälsningar
Kent

Update
I just posted one from Rödby

See you in a couple of weeks

Hi Lars,
What a nice and interesting shot!
The lines are so nice in this shot. Very well composition.
Interesting POV
Best Wishes

Hej Lars,
A very "industrial" one with a nice green carpet to receive us. All this mix of white lines is very confusing to me, but after a while it gets a very interesting image. The composition is great and the graphic effect of all these structures is quite nice. Also nice to know how you got to Denmark.
Have a nice weekend,
Ricardo

Hi Lars
Nice view of the interesting journey. I like ferries.
F

Strange how this ferry with its doors opened look more like a building than like a ship...

All the best,

Emmanuel
