Train of the first generation of German InterCityExpress, ICE 1, approaching Boppard. These trains started service in 1991. They have power units on both ends and typically 12 intermediate cars. Maximum speed is 280 km/h.
Shot from Gedeonseck lookout point on a place where Rhein makes a horseshoe bend.

Nice diagonal capture of both train and boat , not easy to catch if they go in opposite direction , compliments.
Stefano.
Olá Kari, interesting couple of images remembering the models of childhood...well, actually it must be more the models of many additcted adults ;-) I like a lot the interplay of the two diagonals, one coming up and other going down. I wonder if it would work in a tited composition, with the train in a perfect diagonal of the image...it's problably a stupid idea...
Anyway, the graphism is interesting and the elements stand out well contrasting with the scenery. It doesn't seem to have a perfect sharpness - I wonder if it is from the use of the 300m zoom. Good work for the original composition.

Hi Kari.
An excellent POV with the train in diagonal, creating a nice effect.

Excellent capture of the boat going downstream and the train running in the opposite direction. You don't have much time to decide when to push the button! There is unusual low traffic on the Rhine in your picture. When I did this stretch with my boat it was like being on a motorway.
