Photographer’s Note

Looking back in my gallery, I noticed that it has passed a long time since I uploaded my last b&w photo. That's why I chose to make a short break in my parallel "Corfu-Sweden" series to upload one more (the 9th) picture from the lagoon of Mesolonghi. Here you can see some of the elements that make this place so special. The fish "farms", the gaitas, the traditional boats of the lake, and most important the feeling of peace and tranquility that's spread all over this corner of Greece.

peaceful indeed!the slight reflections is a goosd choise! and black and white, eventhough this area is known for its pinkish colours during sunsets

Hello Hercules,
A delightful scene with perfect reflections on calm waters, fishing boats, distant mountains and clouds. Add ouzo and meze, and you are all set. I bet it would be just as great with color.

So peaceful indeed. It looks like nothing is moving there, only the time is flowing. The B&W works well to make this atmosphere even more still and tranquil. The rflections of the poles in the foreground are very well seen. Beautiful job.

Te juro que no pude evitar empezar a contar los palos que que sobresalen del agua. Muy bien trabajo, y sin duda alguna el BW fue la mejor opcion.

Hola Hercules.

Hay veces que lo que necesitamos para hacer una foto es tener el ojo suficiente como para saber aislar aquello en lo que queremos centrar la atención.
Saber también si color, blanco y negro, más o menos exposición, etc, también acaba dando un mejor o peor resultado.

Supongo que la práctica nos da mucho. Pero además de la práctica hay quienes, y es fácil de ver, tiene una sensibilidad especial para saber hacer una foto o "aislar" aquello que queremos retratar.

Fotos como ésta dicen que tú tienes un ojo especial para hacer y "ver" las fotos.

Ta leme, file mou.

PD: este año, si todo va bien, tendré la oportunidad de ir a Grecia (bueno, si todo va bien, a Grecia y a muchos sitios más)

Hola Hercules,
gran composición y bello paisaje, con bonitas texturas y reflejos en el agua.
El B&N da mucho dramatismo y un toque artístico a la foto, pero sigo pensando que estas vistas deben resultar muy bellas con su color natural.
Debe ser porque soy un amante del color.
Pero tu foto es muy buena, amigo mío, tiene una gran fuerza visual y es muy atractiva.
Me gustan las franjas horizontales en que se divide la imagen, en contraste con la verticalidad de los palos en el agua, lo que le da un excelente grafismo también.

Hi Hercules,
The poles in the water throughout the shot make for a great graphic image. Nice depth and composition, and I like the sky too. Black and white was a good choice also to convey the mood.

Μας παρασουσιαζεις μια πολυ ομορφη φωτογραφια σε ασπρο-μαυρο!Πιστευω οτι δινουν μια πολυ ωραια αισθηση τα επιπεδα της συνθεση μεχρι τα μακρινα συννεφα.Ακομη πιο πολυ μ'ρεσουν τα παραπηγματα και οι αντανακλασεις τους.Μπραβο φιλε,εξαιρετικη!

Καλά έκανες και έψαξες τις παλιές σου φωτογραφίες. Να το κάνεις πιό συχνά και ειδικά τις ασπρόμαυρες (τους έχω αδυναμία, τι να κάνω?).
Υπέροχο κάντρο με πολύ καλή γωνία λήψης σου δίνει την αίσθηση ότι είσαι μέσα στο τοπίο.
Πολύ καλή εκφώτιση με άψογη τονική διαβάθμιση.

Une des plus belles photos que j'ai pu voir. J'aime ces différents plans qui apportent chacun un graphisme et des valeurs différentes. Les reflets du premier plan avec les pieux feraient déjà une excellente photo. J'aime également la grâce des bateaux et la beauté des nuages du ciel.

This works really well in B&W, thanks to the strong graphic patterns of the wooden posts and the borders of the fish pens. The horizontal layering gives a good sense of depth to the image, and I like the strong light and high contrast.
My eyes are probably playing tricks on me, but it looks like there's a slight tilt to the left here. Never mind, it's still a superb shot.

Lonely and peaceful place where everything seems to take hours to happen. We can rest there for hours just observing the view and the majectic mountains being invaded by the smooth mist.
Wonderufl view, with great visua limpact caused by the reflections on water and your good choice for the B&W tones.
