Photographer’s Note

Pelades are those small houses located in Tourlida lake in Mesologi.

More info and history about Mesologi is here.

About the shot:
===============
The heat was extremely high, don't be fooled by this cold atmosphere I've made in Post Processing.
The thermometer indicated over 40c.
I guess I've picked the wrong day to travel, but it was summer, and it was the only free work window I had. So this is better than nothing.
This shot couldn't be missed. I begin my journey to western Greece with some stops. Mesologi was one destination I wanted to check. I've seen this Sea-Lake in Trekearth and the internet, and I was wondering how is it like there, is it that dreamy indeed?
The answer is yes! although the time I chose was the worst. Noon almost 16:00 direct sun light, white sky, dull colours, and sea waves that killed my reflections I had in my mind. Not the best conditions but I squeezed the best I could in this one.
If you are interested to take some good snaps of this lake, try early in the morning until noon.
The afternoon offers you one of the best sunsets I've ever seen. Be patient, you'll see too :)

Check my exif:
f/10 not to risk sharpness, besides I had too much light and the 1/60 at 10mm is very satisfying even for hand held photography!
ISO 100, noise is forbidden in such scenes :D
and a polarizer filter to squeeze the blues in this one.

Post Processing notes:
======================
This one took me several hours, I really don't remember, might be 3 or more.
Its not that easy as it seems, I had to convert that dull and hot atmosphere into a bright shinny morning.

- RAW Push up/convert
- Clone stamp to remove the sign (check the WS, you'll see which sign)
- Extreme Tonemapping over layer to enhance the colour luminance
- Several masks used over areas with curves layer to enhance:
a) sky
b) water
c) the pelada house
d) clouds
- Micro adjustments to the exposure curves of the shot
- Saturation adjustments over areas
- HUE/red toning over pelada house (thanks to my friend Valia for the idea)
- White frame
- Custom sharpness
- Different title/template layout which I think I'll use this one for my posts. (let me know if you like it)

For the ones who'd like to discover the post process (PP) and RAW advantages, check the original JPEG shot in my workshop and compare it with this one here.
