Photographer's Note

In the Crete island’s extreme northwestern tip lies the mountainous and uninhabited Gramvousa Peninsula. On the west side of the Gramvousa there is an amazing coast that is called Balos. It is one of Greece's finest beaches with white-pinkish sand and broken sea-shells. The water in the lagoon is very shallow and warm and there is a simple taverna here if you fancy a cold beer. You can also swim out of the lagoon where the water is deep, crystal-clear, much colder and good for snorkelling.
