After two weeks of very hard work I'm very tired and uninspired in taking photos, I'm having a little break now and I've found this scanned slide in my witch hat, hope you'll enjoy it.

Parga nestles in a stunning bay hemmed in by the islet of Panagia and has a unique combination of the natural beauty of the Ionian - lush vegetation, colourful flowers and turquoise seas, and the rugged mountainous backdrop of Epirus. The village of Parga is built like a huge amphitheatre stretching from the harbour up to the old Turkish market, all the houses clinging as much to each other as the hillside.

Parga is a beautiful small town which many people visit each year on day trips from Kerkyra. Waiting to be rediscovered, however, is a fantastic history and incredible unspoilt mountain and coastal scenery. Parga's residents are a proud and friendly people and a holiday here offers easy access to undiscovered towns and villages across mainland Greece.

All around Parga you will find every open space covered with olive trees (still a major source of income for many families) and every garden and yard has orange and lemon trees. The latter when in bloom are a brilliant white with an enchanting scent which fills the air around the town.

Parga is regarded by many as being one of the most beautiful towns in all of Greece. Nature has abundantly gifted it with many wonders, delightful sights, superb beaches and bays, a sea with crystal clear waters and a sunny, healthy environment. Its heroic past, geographical position, incomparable natural beauty and countless swimming and leisure opportunities make Parga an ideal location for summer visitors and turns the town into a cosmopolitan centre.

your scanned slide is very good. But good enough is Parga, too. A wonderful place with great history as you said. An ideal destination for vacation. The frame is well done with brilliant colours and excellent details. I think that your choice to post this image was the best for a break.

Hi Stella,

I guess we both have the same problem this days. It is just that you can find much more uplifting images in your archive than I. :) This one trully looks like a escape paradise for me. I would specailly like to rest by that little white house with red roof on this small island. This is trully THE place. It looks so comforting and enjoyable. A place where a gentle breeze blows all worries away, a place where sun warms a hearth after a long winter. POV is excellent and shows marvelous relation between bay and the sea with beautiful detailed foreground -pinetrees that could be almost smelt. Trully a paradise for my mind in these days.

Parga, un'altra perla da aggiungere alla mia collezione di posti da visitare in Grecia. Ottima foto, con colori, esposizione e contrasto ben equilibrati. Non capisco a che ora può essere presa, (non ci sono ombre fastidiose) forse al primo pomeriggio?
Ottimo anche il POV con i pini che incorniciano l'immagine.

I understand you very well. I am in a similar situation. But no problem. You open the magic box with the old photos and for sure something good will come out, like this wonderful one.
I like very much how the light makes the levels distinguish giving thus very good depth to the composition.
