Photographer's Note
On Mount Athos' peak (2027m. high), a place attracting a lot of thunderbolts, exists a church, built in the end of 19th century and dedicated to Lord's Transfiguration. Many pilgrims or tourists climb up a steep footpath to the top, where they get a marvellous view of the Athonite peninsula and Northern Agean sea. This cross, above the church, was put there by the Patriarch of Constantinople Ioakim III in 1897.
Photo shot on colour film and developed in a workshop. I scanned the print on a flatbed scanner and processed in Photoshop.
