Photographer's Note

In my last post I explained a bit about the high quality green marble for which the island of Tinos is famed. The centre of the marble work is the pretty village of Pyrgos. I wonder if you can guess what this structure is. It's made entirely out of marble.

Well.......it is located at the bus stop so it can only be.............a bus shelter!! A beautifully carved marble bus shelter! How up-market is that!!!?

(Since posting I just had a thought. I wonder if it is a practice piece done at the Sculpture School)

I took it at 3pm waiting for the bus back to Tinos Town, so the light is very harsh.

I’ll be away again from Saturday for over a week so I’ll “see” you when I get back.
