House front doors in Chora, Patmos are a very interesting theme. Each has its individual design and colour that sets it apart from every other door in the neighbourhood. Many doors have elaborate door knockers in a great variety of forms: goddesses, wreaths, horses, lions, hands...
A lot of the antique houses of Chora have been bought by people of non_greek nationality. Every owner must obey strict rules concerning the preservation of the town's architectural style. This explains the homogenous white colour of the houses. Doors and door knockers, in a great diversity of designs, forms and colours speak of the owner's style and individuality in a very pleasant, interesting and effective way.

Ciao Ourania,
interesante e curioso close-up di questa porta colore turchese. Hai catturato un piacevole dettaglio, con buona nitidezza e gestendo la luce molto bene. Interessanti anche le note, anche a Burano (Venezia) gli abitanti non possono cambiare il colore e/o modificare l'architettura delle loro case. Credo sia una cosa giusta per conservare la bellezza di queste piccole città.

molto interessante questo particolare, un bel colore naturale, forse però avrei tagliato la parte in basso con l'ombra, ma è solo gusto mio.

I find this door sign very funny. I saw a very similar one in Albania a couple of years ago, again in French (no idea why!!) it says "Attention, Chien Mechant". This one is more funny!

Ουρανία γεια σου,
θαυμάσια μινιμαλιστική φωτογραφία με το ρόπτρο που κρέμεται στην εξώπορτα του σπιτιού και οι επισκέπτες το χτυπούσαν κάποτε,να έχει αντικατασταθεί με ποιό μοντέρνα μέσο όπως το κουδούνι.
Μου αρέσει η αντίθεση των χρωμάτων όπως και το σωστό cropping.

Wow, this one really knocks you in, I dont think I'd spend much time looking at a door handle but this one makes you think. Love the old rustic apperance so sharp, clean and so full of detail and great contrasting colors. This looks like the hand of fatima I have seen in Tunisia and this must belongs to a French owner surely. Great find and so well taken. Excellent infor notes, Well done.
