This stack of marble was in a builders yard which I passed in Skopelos town. In the UK marble has been regarded as a luxury - only used in 'Stately Homes', and high quality public buildings - and, more recently, for expensive kitchens and bathrooms. Years ago, when I first visited Greece, I was surprised by the quantities of marble used on floors, terraces and around doors and windows on ordinary small houses.

Hello Maggie! Very interesting details. Good lightness and shadow. Very good contrast. Good sharpness. Original effect. Nice picture, very nice. Good luck!

Interesting shot - at first glance, I found it hard to recognize your subject. Then, the light creates a very pleasing abstract composition. Well done!

Hi Maggie,
an interesting graphic shot. The light enhances the sense of depth. I wonder what a B&W conversion would bring...Well thought-of anyway.

Yours,

Philippe

EDIT: well here's my go at it in the workshop

hi Maggie

Good sharpness and texture, contrast for this B&W capture of the edges of marbles. They really form a nice pattern for you.

tfs, bill

γεια σου Maggie,
marble is the most common building materials in Greece. As you know statues, temples in the ancient Athens and in nowadays the Panathinaiko Stadium
were made from the most expensive marble,Penteliko .Very nice your shot with these pieces of marble in this yard in Skopelos.

Σε χαιρετώ,Δάνος

Hi Maggie !
Impressive view from above. Kind of abstraction.
Like it very much.
Greetings T.

You caught me with this image, Maggie. I thought it was an aerial view...I discovered what it is about and still got interested because it has great graphic qualities. The abstract of these white lines forming a 'V' attract me and I like the b&w presentation, or should I say grey and white...
Best wishes,
ricardo

Hi Maggie
beautifull cropping. Excellent light. The picture is unusual and beautifull

Hello Maggie, how are you, I've been away from the site for a couple of months and glad to be back:)
This is special you know, I thought first it was a view of sand from high above. Great abstract concept, with the mystery element it it. Love the way the white lines interwave and the textures. Light is spot on. The workshop in b/w is very good too. Good unusual job.

Kind regards
Michèle
