Photographer's Note

On this view we can see an important neo-Gothic Presbyterian church on Szilágyi Dezső square on the shore of the Danube, and the modern 5 star Hilton Hotel on Castle Hill just north of the Matthias Church. The Presbyterian church was designed by the renown architect Samu Petz and consecrated in 1896. The Hilton Hotel was designed by Béla Pintér with Janos Sedlmayr, who was an expert of the preservation of the historic architecture. It took a lot of negotiations to seal the deal to build a modern hotel in the heart of a significant historic area, but they managed to come up with a design, that most people approved. The hotel opened on December 31, 1976. I put another view into the the Workshop, the amazing 135 m long Emerald Star cruise ship was the focus of that one.
