Photographer's Note

This is the front facade of Budapest's West (Nyugati) railway station. It was built in 1877 by the same French company who built in Paris the Eiffel tower. For a period of time it was the fifth largest train station in the world and also Europe's most modern railway station. Located at an important transportation hub of Budapest with direct rail link to the airport, the No.3 metro line and several bus and tram lines. The station also has an underground link to the large WestEnd shopping mall. The square in front of it called the West square (former Marx square) is always a busy place.
