A landscape from a science fiction movie. As after the crew has landed in an unknown planet and they started to explore it.
The light is perfect. Very good postproduction work.

never been to Dettifoss but sure will next time...The combination of the light on the green grass above and the sky is magnificent. I like the way you did your crop and the way you chose a low shutter speed for its effect on the water. Good of you to give the details, two shots, a great result, so many details visible in the rocks, great work...!

Hi John,

finally! I've begin to worry. :) This is another excellent shot. Amazing landscape and colours but mostly I love the cloud of water glazing intensive green grass. Great work with 2 different exposures. I tried once this but the result was, well, terrible.

Hi John,
Good Photoshop-work with the layers to combine land and sky. The result is a beautiful landscape with great light and attractive colours. Excellent composition too. Very good work and thanks for sharing!

I always thought that doing this type of image combinations did not gave good results, but viewing this picture I just changed my mind. I will try it myself next time.
The play of dark and light colours is great, and the details can be seen in almost every part of the picture.

John,
maybe the best shot of the day as far as I can tell. Everything looks so well balanced and so damn effective here. The great camera setup along the perfect workflow did allow you to deliver a truly remarkable piece of art. What captured my eye straight away is the bright green of the hill on the right side and the contrast with the dark side of the hill which is contrasted bu the amazing sky..how beautiful!! I also like the frame you choose and the overall quality is outstanding!

Hola John,
Creo que debería plantearme un viaje a Islandia. A juzgar por las fotos de TE parece un verdadero paraiso.
En cuanto a la foto no se que podría añadir, creo que has hecho un gran trabajo utilizando las dos exposiciones y esto sumado a la buena composición y al maravilloso paisaje hace del conjunto una excelente foto.

Hello John,

Very presently merged layers, it is difficult to see any distortion or flaw. Look wondrous, you have certainly captured the immense raw power of these falls. It reminds me of a smaller version of Victoria Falls in Africa. Excellent sharpness and details, I like the way you have added interest with the line of rocks to the left side. The sky offers a wide variety of colours and patterns to further add warmth and complexity to the scene! TFS.

For me is the second best picture of Dettifoss in Trekearth.

Hello John, you seem to have found your paradise in Iceland... You came back with jewels in landscape photography. This one is very impressive. I'm not always knowing what to say about landscape photos. Sometimes, I think it is the landscape itself that is beautiful. But looking at your nice gallery, there is a distinction there that makes it different. Not only you really know how to compose your photos, but you also know how to present your jewels. You know the tips of the trade, making most of your photos a real pleasure to look at. I remember well one of your first photos, the one with the cottongrass. I think that you love nature and its beauties and you know how to show that to us.

The surrounding scenery is perfect for a waterfall. Strong solid rocks in sturdy shapes, and no trees to obscure the view, so we see mist as it merges into the surrounding space. Definitely an Icelandic feel (though I've unfortunately never been there to know that from experience.) Regards, Ken.
