When I was in Iceland one and a half year ago i had bought my new digital reflex camera Nikon D-70s. I was very happy with my new toy but at the same time i was sad because i thought that it was the last time i shot Slides Colours with my old analogic F-70. Those days i carried two cameras on my back: one for digital shots and another one for the last expensives Velvia-50 Slides Colours.
This picture is from an scanned transparency.
I aproached to the waterfall with my tripod as close as i could... close to the edge!

Hi Ricard,

Wonderful exposure .. great level of motion in the water .. great control of the brightness .. the color palette .. especially the darkness .. and the dimension really add to the power of this image.

take care,

John

Impressionnant, Ricard! Ce mélange d'eau en furie et de glace figée crée un effet extraordinaire.
Amicalement

hi Ricard

You did very well to shoot from this angle and in this wonderful condition of light. It looks so different from normal day, and such a cool tone.

Well done.

Why is the color at FG looking so milky?

TFS, bill

What an eyecatcher Ricard.! Impressive point of view, you really were on the edge ! Magnificent colors and light, I love the rather darkish side, and the milky effect is amazing. You deserved such a fantastic result for your patience and daring ! Great work.

Best regards

Hi Ricard,
This too is a very effective and atmospheric shot of Dettifoss. I like the contrast between the dark foreground rocks and the bluey-white of the water and spray, but most of all the silky effect of the long exposure. You don't say on the photo info but I imagine this must have been about a one second exposure? It's interesting because I think flowing water is one area where digital still can't match the smoothness of film (particularly evident here in the water on the far left).
I have some (digital) shots from a similar position but the water is a kind of muddy brown and the effect totally different.
John
