rain forest without trees, a photo from Mayo, Nord

Photographer's Note

Ireland's nature resembles very much a lush rain forest with its intense green colors and the whole variety of plants using every inch of soil or even a scratch in a rock. Suprisingly there are not many trees on this island which makes the expression rain "forest" not really adequate.

Lough Doo (in this picture) is a beautiful mountain lake in the southern part of County Mayo, along R335 road. Far in the centre of the picture you see Benghorm (702m), on the left Sheeffry Hills (763m) and on the right Mweelrea (819m).

Hello Mariusz,
On the thumbnail it looks very dark but when I open it, I find a great landscape picture. In this rain forest the trees have been replaced by many beautiful ferns. Good POV with the small runnel going to the lake and a dramatic sky above the mountains.

Wspanialy kadr! Irlandia 'widziana' Twoimi oczami (podobnie Darka1978) jest niesamowicie piekna :)
Co niestety... troszeczke mija sie z rzeczywistoscia :) Rewelacyjny tutul :)
Fantastycznie wygladaja te paprocie na pierwszym planie. Super kompozycja i 'bajeczna' kolorystyka.

A beautiful view, well composed with the mountains creating a triangle for the sky, to show Ireland's lush and wild greenery under a dark and sculpted sky. Very good shadow colours and a very interestign note too.

Great shot!
I like the contrast between green and gray (clouds and lake).
Mountains and clouds give an idea of power oppose to the calm of water and gras.

No dobra- to jest chyba najlepsze zdjecie w Twojej galerii w kategorii "krajobraz". Staranna kompozycja z fantastyczna glebia i bardzo dynamicznym niebem przyciaga wzrok i naprawde nie pozwala tak szybko stad odejsc. Bardzo mi sie podoba to zdjecie, tak wiec czekam na wiecej landow ;)

Hi Mariusz,
Green spreading to full of the foreground is really attractive, it resembles definitely the floor layer of rain forests. The small stream plays a nice role to lead the eye to the lake, and the impressive sky is a great co‐star. I like this amazing tones with an excellent three-dimensional impression.

Wonderful Irish landscape, Mariusz!!
Being honest with you, Mariusz, I have to admit that the Irlenad is very beautiful and attractive country.
The landscape are superb and towns very churmful.
On another hand , the weather and the food aren't strong points.

Here, this is an excellente take...

Bravo, un ciel magnifique, juste assez dramatique pour mettre en valeur ce paysage superbe. Vous avez apparament utilisé un filtre avec beaucoup de discernement pour la partie haute de l'image. Un peu de saturation pour faire ressortir le vert de l'herbe... mais pas trop. Le petit ruisseau guide le regard vers le lac. J'aimerai savoir faire des photos comme vous...!

Bravo, a splendid, just rather dramatic sky to emphasize this superb landscape. You have apparament to use a filter with a lot of judiciousness for the high party of picture. A little of saturation to bring to light the green of the grass but not too much. The small stream guides look towards the lake. I shall like know-how of photographs as you!

a very beautiful place and photo. it is difficult to take nice images with this kind of weather, but this one is fabulous. I liked in special de colors of the clouds and their aspect. I don't like the word (rain forest) because each forest is caused by the rain..
