Photographer's Note

I may have not given enough justice to the Stocker Strand in Portsalon (Fanad Peninsula), showing previously just a tiny fragment of it.
If you remember my previous upload this view here is what you see when you turn around.
If you want to see even more, check out pictures by darek1978 (photo #1, photo #2), we took this trip together.
I called the Donegal County a wild north-west. While it is certainly true, most of the Irish west coast is rather unspoiled in comparison to what we are used in Europe. Pretty similar and also secluded beaches you can find both around Galway (e.g. in Connemara), which is basically the middle west, and in Kerry or Cork counties which are southwest. Basically in my opinion if you go to the west you cannot go wrong.
Once I had a visitor from abroad and I wanted to show him the Ring of Kerry. He hesitated saying he heard that it is very much commercialized and so full of tourists. Well he changed his mind because we did not meet anybody on our way, but what finally convinced him I believe were the cows which at a certain point blocked a national road. You just have to redefine your idea about the civilization when visiting Ireland.

Workshop contains the original shot in color.
