Photographer's Note

Happy St. Paddy's Day to everyone! I think I'm the first to post a picture of Ireland and wish you all a happy St. Paddy's Day today, but I'm sure I won't be the last. This is my first St. Patrick's Day since visiting Ireland, so I feel more inclined to celebrate it well. I'm as barely Irish as they come (one ancestor who was from County Cavan and was descended from Scots--that's it), but I do love Ireland and its people. So Éireann go Brách, or as it has generally been Anglicized, Erin go Bragh, meaning "Ireland Forever."

This is Derryclare Lough, a fairly famous lough (at least for photographers) about 10 miles or so east of Clifden. It's typical of Connemara scenery.
