A simple daily life catch from one of the
smaller markets in Dublin.
For me it was surprising to see that horses
still play an important part in the daily
life of such a big city.
I´m not too happy with the scan, there are
some burned-out parts, the orginial slide
is much better.

Hi Hermann

A good daily life scene from Ireland. Maybe I would burn in the highlights on the horse a little. Good sharpness & perspective, with great depth. Tfs!

Nice environmental portrait, Herman, full of flavor. Dublin is an amzaing pkace, isn't it?
I like the man with his horse, the sun shining in his forehead - he probably wants a pint of Guinness about now...!
Best,
Francis

Bonjour Hermann
Joli cliché de la vie quotidienne. C'est vrai que celà est plutôt étonnant de voir de nos jours un cheval sur le marché.
Merci pour le partage et bon dimanche.

Hi Hermann,
The contrast is a bit heavy but the scene and composition are priceless. A anachroism with the horse and even the buckley-sign.
Very good.
Thanks and regards, gerrit

Hey Hermann,

a bit of burning wouldnt hurt at all. This is quite a nice caprure, especially the depth of the photo. It has that flm feel, I dont think digital could give us this sort of color feel.

Hi Hermann,
The burned out areas an rather soft sharpness are a bit disturbing, but on the other hand it's very good record of daily life and definitely worth sharing. Good composition with strong atmosphere.

Thanks,
Marek

While the quality of the scan may indeed not be 100% ideal, I like the scene in itself a lot, Hermann. The colorful small Irish market exudes quite a bit of charm and interest, and the framing with man and horse almost exiting the frame is enjoyable as well.

Hi Hermann,
zunächst einmal finde ich, dass der Mann und das Pferd wunderbar ausgeleuchtet sind. Das Straßenbild mit den bunten Marktständen ist sehr ansprechend.
Schönen Sonntag,
Nino

Excellent image - it brings to mind memories of Dublin in a different era, this part of the city is changing now & sadly scenes like this will probably be lost forever within a few years.

The composition is really good, I like the colours too, despite the burnt out parts of the shot. For me it captures a lot of what Moore Street was about (the street markets seeling fruit & veg, the old Dublin characters etc.). Good work!

Hi Hermann,
Beautiful picture of these old Dubliner. The times of James Joyce returns in this moody scene. Well done.

Hermann bonjour - superb perspective and great capture of this splendid Ireland market -
Colors and technical quality are there
Great as usual
Regards
Gaby

Bonsoir Hermann,
Voir des chevaux devient effectivement bien rare. Cela donne un petit effet sympathique avec le bruit des sabots qui claquent sur le pavé ; un temps où la pollution était faible !
Belle image, prise sur le vif.
Amitiés.

Hi Hermann,
very nice scene from this shopping street, life as in old time! Well taken!!

Hi Hermann, A nice perspective view along the market. Nice depth and you have well shown the scene of the daily life there. Good PP job to the scanned picture.

This is a wonderful daily life capture, Hermann. You give us a main focal point in the very interesting man and horse, but the background is so communicative of his environment you give us also the personality of this town.

Hi Hermann,
A well composed shot that illustrates your point about the part still played by horses. The sharpness level is just right, and the POV is superb. As you have pointed out, there is some overexposure related to the scan. You did well to include the fellow walking in the distance, as he both warms and adds a good sense of depth and perspective. Well done.
John

I love the composition here and you have found one of the areas of Dublin still with some old charm. Not just the use of horse and carts but the cobbles are becoming increasingly rare.
Kath

HI Hermann
i would say two things about this picture:
- i love the dynamic PoV, close to the caracter..
- the problem of over expo which is present here (the horse and all the white stuff..)
anyway , it's a good pic (i love all the ireland pictures.. ;-))

Guten Abend Hermann, very fine streetcapture, Hermann. Very lively, very real, I love all the market detail and of course the man and his horse are lovely. There are indeed some harsg highlights, but they don't bother me at all. Very nice work!
Ein guter Anfang der Woche,
Bert

Hi Hermann
Interesting scene with the horse in the street and a great light. I like the face of the man.

Hej Hermann,
I find this a very good shot of the daily life at this market. It's nice you put the man and his horse in front. The colours are nice too. Well done!
Groeten,
Lars

An excellent daily life shot really,Hermann,

Great playing with light and shadow you had, too, nice result you reaxched, excellent quality and I like the way you composed the perspective here in the frame, nicely done,a lovely and lively scene of the poeple,

Hallo Hermann,
The light is indeed very hard, and scanning is very difficult. I scan sometimes 3 or 4 times the same slide with different settings and using layer masks to correct this....cost me a lot of time :-(
Your daily life scene is very nice, and of course the man with horse plays an important role. Rest of the image has still great detail and sharpness, so after all it's not bad at all...!!
Groet, Henk

Always difficult to get a scan jsut right, but at least the slow K64 has given you a nice smooth image.

Yes, I'm surprised too, and in one of the richest countries in Europe. Though I suppose there are some sound economic benefits to using horses for short haul trips in towns.

Hello Hermann,
This is an excellent shot of a daily life scene. The old man with the horse in foreground is very well seen. The scene is like the flea Markets in my country.I like it very much!

Best wishes,
Thomas

Hi Hermann
Strange scene of the street with this horse. This man seems to come from the XIX century like an anachronism.
I like the strong contrast.
Pascal

very nice market shot, I like the street photo, I ahve yet to explore Ireland, well done now I want to go

Jolie vue quasiment médievale.
J'aime l'éclairage de cette image ainsi que la rue qui donne une ligne directrice !
Belle photo vivante.
