Statue of the poet Oscar Wilde (1854-1900).
The statue is in the park on Merrion Square near the house where he lived in. The stone is very colorful and some of his fans always bring fresh flowers to him.

I LOVE this photo! I was on a pilgrimage to his statue this summer (well, not really, but I was there and I like the guy, very much). This is a very interesting angle of the statue, and the flowers adds to it alot as well. Very esthetic.

I must say I think perhaps a black frame would be more appropiate though..

Hallo Roland,

wenn ich durch Deine wirklich sehenswerten Dias blättere, stelle ich fest, dass Du Dich für aussergewöhnlche Monumente interessierst. Das freut mich, Du musst Humor haben. Hier hast Du den Dichter in einer Pose, wo er geich über den Betrachter spotten wird. Sehr gut gemacht, Roland.

Hallo Roland,

gut getroffen - der sieht wirklich "echt" aus. Das Genialste aber ist der Rahmen, der zu dem Grün des Hintergrundes passt - und natürlich auch zu unserem guten alten Oscar Wilde ;-))
