Found this abandoned boat in the middle of the undergrowth to the right of the turf house in Castle Crom. Behind where I took this from was the rusted winch they used to pull the boat up from Lough Erne.The boat is about 20-30 metres from the lake and I'm baffled as to why it was just left to moulder away.
Took this photo using the built in flash of the camera as didn't expect to need my proper flash and didn't have it with me, another case of expect the unexpected.
As can see I desaturated the branches and trees while leaving the boat and ground in colour, tried just the boat in colour but prefered this version, I think the coloured foreground leads the eye into the image while the darkened area gives the impression of the darkness which the foliage brings to the area, let me know if you agree. |
