We are in the play right away, Bertrand, and I really like the unsharp foreground with the balls and that we can see his friendly face and how he prepares the shot. I guess he saw you with on eye, somehow he has this smile that tells me that he was a little aware that you were pointing at him. Great mood in this photo and I have come over this situation many times in Ireland but also in England and Australia, tons of fun, a little rough sometimes when the beer starts to float etc. Excellent shot indeed ... Barbara.

J'adore ! Une maîtrise parfaite de la profondeur de champ, le flou au premier plan crée une belle impression de profondeur. L'exposition est parfaitement gérée avec la lumière qui éclaire le sujet principal. Les couleurs rendent très bien. C'est vraiment parfait !

Bonjour Bertrand,
100% TE, sport ou loisir, le billard sous toutes ses formes est une occupation fort agréable. Une photo dynamique grâce à ce faible POV qui a l'air de donner du mouvement aux billes d'avant plan.
Rien a dire sur la cadrage.
Une petite absence de note...cela ne te ressemble pas.

This is really a well-planned, well-constructed shot, Bertrand. The balls near the camera put the viewer right down on the table where the game is being played. But they are out of focus so they don't detract from the real theme, which is the face of the player as he puts his full attention on his shot. The dark wood in the distance adds atmosphere. good POV and moment capture. Short focus is effective, may be you also needed a wide f/stop for exposure in low light.

ce premier plan bien flou donne une belle ambiance de fête à ce jeu, par contre je suis étonné que tu n'es pas mis de note sur celle-ci.
La gestion de la lumière est également intéressante.

Je regardais souvent le snooker à la télé lorsque j'étais gamine et cela m'arrive de regarder de temps en temps sur Eurosport. Ayant un mari qui jouait au billard américan jusqu'en début de l'année (plus de temps maintenant) je peux apprécier la difficulté. J'aime beaucoup les placements des billes pour permettre des nettétés variables et la position du joueur bien qu'il ne soit pas positionné devant la bille blanche.

many hours I passed playing this game specially during my student years.
What I never did was to aim with the black ball but maybe this is a different kind of game played in Ireland.
Nevertheless, I find his face very funny with his bold moustache and his funny attitude towards the game.
Also the way you played with the focus is nice here and gives him and his play an important role.

Bonjour Bertrand,

Pour avoir pratiqué un peu le billard américain dans ma jeunesse entre amis, voilà un photo qui me rappelle quelques souvenirs de franches rigolades... Une très belle photo où l'ambiance est bien restituée je trouve et en voyant le sourire de cet homme ça me laisse à penser qu'il est sûr de son coup !!! J'aime beaucoup la gestion de ton image avec cette mise au point sélective. Bien vu Bertrand.
