Hi Giorgio and Happy Birthday
I'm not usually a fan of B&W but I think it works so well when there are lots of heavy textures like here. It's so original having a typical castle next to a pyramid. The tombstones lead nicely to the pyramid and the trees fill up the empty corner well.

Ciao Giorgio, again beautiful photo in bw, so one can easily compare old drawing with the new photo.IIndeed, it looks the same. Only surrounding has a bit changed, maybe the POV is slightly different.

Quando scrivo il ventotto di ottobre è passato da un'ora. Una serie di circostanze di lavoro - nessuno può capirmi meglio di te- non mi ha permesso di augurarti il tuo "n...simo" compleanno il giorno giusto! Va beh "vecchio" amico..... AUGURI DI CUORE! Foto incredibile giocata con un BW d'autore ed una composizione esemplare tra luce incredibilmente efficace e un cielo mirabile.

Wish there was some isolation on the subject Giorgio..appreciate your decision for presenting this in monochrome...i would have done the same...makes a fresh impact..the structure beomes visually stronger..intimidating...

Hi Giorgio,
I would never have expected this to be in Rome, and it is strange to see a pyramid next to the castle. Nice to have it in black and white giving it an old time feel. And with the person there one really gets a good sense of the size of this structure.
Interesting to see the drawing from all those years ago.

meno male che con i tuoi post mi rendo conto che a Roma ci sono angoli che non cambiano, a forza di star fuori dalla mia città per tutta o quasi la settimana, certi scorci non li vedo più da mesi se non su TE. Bellissima questa foto, quasi dal sapore metafisico con le sue forme così nette e definite: triangolo, cilindro dietro...solo il cielo non è metafisico e va bene così perchè è il "tuo" e a noi piace tanto!

This is a gorgeous B&W image. The altar-like slabs in the foreground are a little washed-out, but I love the detail and contrast in the pyramid.

Questa costruzione è stupefacente con la sua forma e con la sua dimensione. Non ho compreso quale è il suo impiego o il suo significato, ma quest'enigma non impedisce all'immagine di essere di qualità, ed essere bene equilibrata e netta. Bravo.
