The Swiss Guard. of which we see here two members, was founded on january 22th 1506.
Only Swiss young men, not married, between the age of 19 and 30 years old, Roman Catholic and of good ethical background can join the corps.

Hello JWM,
congratulations to your little jubilee of 300 posted pictures. The swiss guard of the vatican city is very famous. You have captured them nicely in their traditional and colourful uniform. I hope that the right one with closed eyes is not exactly sleeping. ;-)

Dat u deze keuze maakt is in iedergeval zeer vredelievend.
Precies of de ene staat met zijn ogen dicht, u heeft hem toch niet betoverd met uw camera.
