Fornace Penna, a photo from Ragusa, Sicily

Photographer's Note

La Fornace Penna si trova in località Pisciotto, si tratta di un monumento di archeologia industriale, costruita tra il 1909 e il 1912. La scelta del luogo è stata fatta in base alla vicinanza del mare (50 metri) e al suo fondale che consentiva l'attracco delle navi, la vicinanza della ferrovia e la cava di argilla a 200 metri.
Anche questo luogo è stato utilizzato per le riprese del Commissario Montalbano.

This ruin looks well kept and almost modern in its clean straight lines appearance. The combination of the cold grey and the blue sky is a rare combination and it looks really good

This area in Sicilia we did not visit, but I know it has an abundance of attractive ancient monuments and edifices.
Fine details of this not-so-old wall and industrial building, the argilla color is most notable.

Des ruines bien présentées avec cet effet de symétrie, les pierres se détachent parfaitement sur ce fond uniformément bleu.

First of all, I like the blue sky here, such a wonderful contrast with the grey walls. Superb composition with ideal symmetry. What Commissario Montalbano could do there? These ruins are not old, nice that they are presserved to give the opportunity for fine pictures.

Hello Carlo,
I like the symmetrical framing and the vivid tonal contrasts. Excellent rendering of the textural detail. I am a fan of Montalbano but do not recognise this location I'm afraid.

J'aime beaucoup ces vieux vestiges de l'époque industrielle. Superbe contre plongée qui donne de l'ampleur et qui utilise bien le ciel comme arrière plan. Superbe symétrie.
