Photographer's Note
I was not surprised by the numbers of tourists that flocked around Florence’s beautiful buildings, galleries and museums. They were there for the same reason that we were.
The two gentlemen here were part of a large group who were being shown the sights by a tour guide. I was quite amused to see that she had an electronic devise into which she spoke and her group were all plugged in to her commentary by way of receivers. Cameras at the ready snap, snap snap!

Hi Rosemary
Well-observed! Good idea to take a photo of photographers taking photos.
I like your choice of medium with the colours of the facade not distracting the viewers from the main subject and yet creating an unmistakeable sense of place.
Best wishes

Hello Rosemary,
What a very suitable title for you. ;-) Yes, this is what we look like, although I personally try to stay away from the crowds. But what else is there to do in a place like Florence, where there are photo opportunities at virtually every inch? This is a good observation of tourism of today, and the black and white persons go well with the colours of the façade.
Kind regards,
Gert

Ciao Rosemary
Saluti
Carlo

Hi Rosemary!
This is really the most common scene in the touristic places, something that often makes me lose my patience:)! Well captured, the wall of the church in background situate us.

Hello Rosemary,
I like photos of photographer(s) enthusiastically shooting away... in this case the great Chiesa de Santa Maria di Fiore. Walking around, did you feel the spirit of Brunelleschi and Ghiberti, Leonardo and Michelangelo. I know, I could not avoid their presence.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hello Rosemary,
Perhaps the devices also translated her commentary? A great street capture perfectly suited to the close framing and the black and white. Not the ideal way to see a place but sometimes needs must.

Hi Rosemary
Some serious snappers at work and the look of total concentration! Clever title of a very good candid timely shot where mono conversion allows so much more to come through with lovely glimpse of the bg. You have to take what's available, when available; so a fair success here nicely framed, just shows what we go through for our 'art' if indeed that is what it is..
Great capture, congrats
Best regards

Dear Rosemary,
I also met a group of this species at Prague. Thoose were using a slim device with a shiny monitor to worship their god(s). Here is my evidence: http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Czech_Republic/photo1471071.htm
I almos forgot: nice capture with excellent tones. :)

Hello Rosemary,
You have captured the mood and the occupation of most tourists visiting Florence. There is so much to see, to enjoy and to record. I was the same in that I found my camera constantly at the ready!
This is one of those shots that conveys much more than the actual images!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Dear Rosemary
A very strong Black & White image. I love the strong contrasts and black tones. The vertical frame was chosen well, emphasising the height of the item that everyone (except you) seems to be photographing. You've captured a scene that is everywhere, yet have made it very artistic and attractive. Nice work, thanks for sharing and I hope you have been well.

Hello Rosemary,
This is a novel way to photograph one of the famous sights in Florence, through a group of keen photographers! I like the range of tones in this b/w image with the focus on the men in the FG. Nicely framed and original.
Kind Regards, Ann

Hello Rosemary
Hope all is well with you:)
An observation of the observer. Exquisite composition very well presented in b&w. The blurred background is clear enough to give a good impression of the impressive architecture that draws all the photographers attention. Superb! Thanks.

Hello Rosemary
Long time no hear ..., but unfortunately I don't get any notification mails of my favorites postings for some time now and nobody at TE seems to care.
Yes, the world is full of photographers today, it is amazing the sheer amount of pictures taken today. Your fine snapshot of these happy snappers is the perfect example to document this.
These kind of wired groups pop up everywhere these days. Just recently on a short weekend in Bruges we came across plenty of these groups. I personally would be a nightmare to the tour guide, always behind for one more photo or just pop in to a nice café for a drink ..hehe.
Great observation indeed.
have a great week
Daniel
