In the small town of Marciana Marina (Island of Elba), the Medicea Tower, of cylindrical shape, was constructed from the Pisan in XII the century. Called Medicea or Pisana or Saracen Tower because it served as point of sight for the ships of the saracen pirates and as alarm system for the local population.
