Sutri (ancient Sutrium) is a town in the province of Viterbo, about 50 km from Rome. It is picturesquely situated on a narrow tufa hill, surrounded by ravines, a narrow neck on the west alone connecting it with the surrounding country.

The modern comune of Sutri has a few more than 5,000 inhabitants. It ancient remains are a major draw for tourism: a Roman amphitheatre excavated in the tufa rock, an Etruscan necropolis with dozens of rock-cut tombs, a Mithraeum incorporated in the crypt of its church of the Madonna del Parto, a Romanesque Duomo.

interessante foto documentaria, mi piacciono i dettagli delle piante in primo piano illumunate di lato che danno anche profondità all'immagine.

La foto è un bel complemento al tuo precedente posting...

ottima luce difficilissima da gestire. UIl taglio è classico ma interessantissimo e fa "vedere" con uno scorcio l'intera architettura dell'anfiteatro. Un altro scatto da maestro, e la cosa bella è che quest'idea non mi era venuta in mente pur conoscendo il soggetto benissimo e praticamente me l'hai fatta sotto il naso!

Ciao Vinicio. Stiamo elevando (quasi tutti) il livello. Questa è di una difficoltà particolare per via della luce che hai saputo, in ogni caso gestire con eccellenza.

Bellissimo scatto che lascia spazio all'immaginazione. Si può supporre che le stesse ombre delle piante proiettate in quella che io ritengo un'arena, nel senso di un teatro all'aperto, ci fossero anche tanto, tanto tempo fa. E allora l'ombra degli alberi assume un suo significato preciso. Loro sono (quasi) eterni. Fisicamente quasi eterni. Noi no. Bravissimo Vinicio!

Hi Vinicio, Splendid place. Very original Roman theatre, overgrown with vegetation. I like such ruins so much! And cypresses and pines. Wonderful!

It looks like a very nice place for a walk through Roman history. For the shot I would like to see the place under an opposite light. Otherwise, it is very interesting posting, including the note.

Bel posto , belle rovine , bella composizione e pov , avrei aggiunto un pò di hdr per recuperare le zone un pò troppo in ombra .

la forte luce ha creato dei forti contrasti tra le zone illuminate e l'ombra, (ne ho una copia nell'hd) comunque hai catturato molto bene la bellezza del posto.
