Photographer’s Note
Entrance to Verona Cathedral.
Verona Cathedral was erected after two Palaeo-Christian churches on the same site had been destroyed by an earthquake in 1117. Built in Romanesque style, the cathedral was consecrated on September 13, 1187. The façade is divided into three parts, with a pediment and a two storied projecting porch or protiro embellished with sculpture, which is the work of the twelfth century sculptor Nicholaus, who also executed and signed the entranceway at the abbey church of San Zeno, also in Verona, and Ferrara Cathedral. The protiro is supported on the backs of two griffons, similar to those from the dismantled Porta dei Mesi at Ferrara.

Ciao Malgorzata,
bella composizione con la scultura in primo piano e parte della facciata dell'antico palazzo, sullo sfondo.
Bello il riflesso del cielo sullo sfondo.
Dimostri cura nei particolari.

Hi Malgorzata,
I remeber very well the entrance of the cathedral in Frrara which saw just some weeks ago... this is a very fine composition with a good light on the lions and a beautiful background... a balcony in Verona is always great ;-)
Have a nice weekend

Hello Malgorzata
Yesterday I was seeing a rerun of Inspector Morse mystery which was based in Vicenza and Verona...I saw the cathedral there, but did not notice the griffons. The light is sublime as the play of shadows also enhances the 3D feel. Fine exposure control especially in the shaded areas
Best Regards
Angshu
