Photographer’s Note

Everything here is fake.
The horses on the balcony of Saint Mark's Cathedral are a copy of the original, made of copper, which are in a museum inside the church.
The astronomical clock dates back from the XV century and was restored in 1757. It shows the time, the year season, the constellation the sun is passing through (hence the month) and the lunar phases.
The tower dates also back from the last years of the XV century (first of the XVI).
Due to restoration or cleaning works (don't know) both tower and clock were covered with a kind of tapestry with a picture of them.
I believed it was a good idea.

Interesting viewpoint Clemente and so is your informative note. Technically a good shot, but I am not sure if that composition works for me though, a little top heavy maybe?

Al contrario que Nina, yo sí creo que la composición funciona, Clemente. De hecho algo que me sorprende es la cantidad de aproximaciones diferentes que puede haber a algo... Esta me gusta porque las lineas del oxído en el caballo juegan a favor del cuadro conduciendo la mirada al poster del reloj... Estaba cubierto, por un lado siento que no pudieras verlo, por otro pienso que así tienes una excusa para volver a Venecia (si es que tal justificación es necesaria para ver una maravilla).

Hola, Clemente. Aquí estoy para admirar esta fantástica foto de excelente composición. Creo que además de original, el encuadre realmente fascinante enmarcando bajo las esculturas de los caballos el edificio en restauración . Me gusta mucho la composición, las miradas se dirigen de arriba (las esculturas con lineas de oxido que señalan vetusted pero a la vez son bellas en esta imagen) hacia abajo ( la parte central del edificio y el reloj , yo también creo que es una muy buena idea tapar las restauraciones o limpiezas con fotos de esa misma parte del edificio). Una foto con mucha fuerza, amigo.

Hi Clemente, this is a surprising PoV, rather original. I think I was there in '97, and that tapestry was also hanging in front of the clock. I wonder, are they noy finished, or did they deliver such a bad job, that everything has to be doen anew.

Hola Clemente.
Después de leer un poco lo que se dice por aquí: yo sí me quedo con tu composición. El caballo no solo es marco, es también protagonista de la foto. Y consigues integrar todos los elementos de la foto muy bien.
