this looks reeeally classy and it has a sort of old world feeling... it makes me think of those large grand ballrooms. nice off-centre perspective and sepia tones. i think the frame makes it look a little unbalanced though, since it's only on two sides.

wonderful spiral view...motion of people adds extra
dimension...gives feeling of depth....
I have also visited Vatican....but couldn't visit
the museum...as it was closed by that time...

Superbe prise originale. Les gens en mouvement donne une perspective unique dans cette spirale. Le sépia, je ne suis pas sûr contrairement à une image en noir et blanc, par exemple. De toute façon, cette photo frappe fort dès qu'on la regarde! Bravo!

A very popular shot (even I have a similar one), yet I never tire of it. The tone is very nice, and the truth, I love motion blur, mostly with people. it gives it this "time stands still" feeling to me.

gorgeous! compo, framing, shadows, sharpness perfect! sepia is great. shutter speed, again perfect, not too long, not too short. agree on the critiques on the frame. another beautiful shot with a rebel, congrats! (sorry, no time, gotta run)

I've yet to have the opportunity to visit the vatican, but after seeing shots such as yours- makes me want to book a trip!
This really is a gorgeous staircase, and you've captured it superbly!

EN regardant cette image j’ai l’impression de me trouver à l’intérieur d'une grande machine, les escaliers sont les rouages et les humains les éléments qui font tourner cette machine.

C’est superbe, dynamique et très esthétique. Un très beau cliché.

Hi Cessy, and compliments for yours first 1.000 points! Not only the pov give a movement sensation, even the long exposition time help to underline it.
I'm not always a fan of sepia tone, but the two black band as frame are a good and strong impacting idea!

Hi Cessy - I think this one is nothing short of amazing. Great graphical impact from the downward spiral, nice motion effect from the slow speed, and good off-centered placement of the focal point towards which the stairs converge. Furthermore, the sepia treatment really rocks on this one. Great job.

Oh, this beautiful shampes do remind me of a snail's pace. You captured it from the right pov, which give a nice depth to the photo. I like the blur shapes of the moving pictures. Great pic!

This is a fine example of these famous stairs - possibly the most photographed stairs in the world (Google "Vatican Stairs" for more examples). I recall being told that 10,000 people a month (or possibly a day, but I find that hard to believe) visit this location. Nice work!
