Never before, a photo from Genoa, Liguria

Photographer's Note

In the past century for sure nobody in my region witnessed such a powerfull storm surge, it was a kind of hurricane with winds up to 150 km per hour, in some places roads have been destroyed, small harbor badly damaged, boats washed away, when I saw the forecast I took my camera and went to get some "historic" pictures, it was late afternoon and the light was very bad so I had to use very high ISO to froze the water hope you enjoy anyway

Ciao Federico,l'ISO elevato obbligatorio ha lasciato traccia nel rumore della composizione,ma in una situazione del genere sembra quasi un effetto creato appositamente e accentua la bellezza di questo scatto,serata da tregenda colta nella sua giusta drammaticita' con un bianco e nero d'autore! This is a terrific photo. You were brave to come here in that kind of weather, and you were clever to manage such a sharp photo in that wind. It is like a document from long ago. The old buildings and B&W make it look like a very old photo.

Wow, a cracking dramatic rare moment!! Great composition and positioning of the lamp posts and houses behind combined with that dramatic devastating waves. This must have been a great experience you've had coming face to face capturing the feel of what it must have been like that day. Just to proof as to the power of Nature and your mono conversion also emphasises the condition and its powerful impact. A proud capture of yours worth so much more that two point I think, you should've sold it to a local news paper!! I am impressed and tfs, Congrats

Terrific picture with lots of drama here, Federico. Old rambling Genoa is now the place in Italy I want to visit most, your picture only confirms this (but I guess we'd be hoping for better weather).
