[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Within walking distance from yesterday's photo, this one is from the Grand St. Bernard pass downwards to Aosta valley on the Italian side.

Slight colour and brightness adjustments + sharpening.

BTW, if you happen to travel nearby the Swiss-Italian border, eat on the Italian side.

The long and winding road that has no end it seems
well done Kari.

A well composed Alpine image, Kari, showing the difference in altitude in three layers. Up front the road, the barrier and the vegetation; next the winding road in the barren landscape together with a camp (military?); finally the lower partially wood covered mountain slope crossed by the same road. A bit of haze/mist also helps create perspective in the shot. Very well done!

Yes, I've crossed on this road. Yes, we ate on the Italian side (a rather fancy restaurant near the road, I believe)... ;o)

This is spectacular! A wide angle shot is a very good choice for this breathtaking scenery to give justice to the many layers of details. Very impressive especially placing the flowers on the bottom to anchor the scene, Kari, keep up the good work!

hi kari
it's a beautiful landscape.... the dark tones of green - i really enjoyed... the roads are perfectly matching with the land profile.... and your sharpness control is excellent....

Kari,

This seems to be a very much photographed location.
I have seen this with a station wagon and a motorcyclist on the first road below.
This is really a wonderful shot.

Good job!

peace,

haans :)
