Photographer’s Note
Just back from a few days in Venice, I promise this mini series will not be all gondolas, although I must say I saw enough. The tourist season hasn't really started yet, BUT....traffic jams of gondolas lining the canals bursting with song and tourists, clenched in their hands cameras, videos, mobile phones anything to capture the moment.
The weather was gloomy, but that didnt dampened my spirits as I walked and walked around the city - taking in its beautiful decay - the tantilizing reflections (Sasa, you would have a dream day!) and interesting people.

Hi Elaine,
This is a very original view of Venice. I like the graphic effect created by the reflections and the POV.
Well done!
Quentin.

Hi Elaine, I see what you mean with reflections... but it's a true beauty, very artistic and certainly a different view on the gondolas and the channels. The reflection of the white blends so well with the end part of the gondola. The more vague blurred reflection of the buildings is very abstract and creates a lovely pattern. I think this is a superb shot Elaine! Sabine
I'll be back I'm on dry land...

a classic but yet again a different interpretation, like in music... I could hear thousand times some famous operas, symphonies or concerti and never get bored because each one is differente and unique;-) a beautiful shot Elaine!

Hi Elaine
Very beautifull POV and cropping for the gondolas. It's not easy to find something new in Venise. But you done.

Elaine, this is just MAGICAL... the reflections... and yes, I would have had a dream day, especially if we could have walked together taking photos with our little nikons :-)
A really nice capture, very graphic, dreamlike, beautiful!
Happy you had a little break too.

Hi Elaine, welkom terug! Ik wilde eigenlijk je eerder geziene werkelijk prachtige 'lunch helix' gaan raten, until I saw this gorgeous one. The simplicity, the limitted set of hues, the sheer attraction of the rakishly elegant forms and the distorted velvetty reflections brought me here. This is really good,
Have a nice weekend,
Bert
