This is another of my earlier photos, taken originally as a slide, then printed up as a 3x5 for an album, and finally scanned into Photoshop for submission here.

The Piazzetta San Marco is the small plaza leading from the main Plaza (Piazza) to the lagoon. One one side is the Doge's Palace and on the other is the Biblioteca. This view was taken from the Biblioteca's colonnade, looking toward the lagoon and the Church of San Giogio beyond it. It was about 7 in the morning, there were very few people out, and the sun was still struggling to make it through the haze. The purple cast is from the sunlight, not from fading color dyes.

Technical: Scanned in from 3x5, then minor cloning to remove scanning artifacts. (I like this one enough that I may get around to digging up the original slide and having it professionally digitized, but when I'm working at home I have to use the regular scanner; I can't afford the fancy professional equipment.) Some small use of Curves and Contrast to bring out the details in lower right. A bit of cropping to straighten the pillars.

Hello Daniel..the snap has come a long way ! and the final output is so satisfying ..the soft BG colors and contours..the sharp details of the gothic pillars and light posts..perfect..the light and base details were managed so well when you first hit the shutter..nothing changes..interesting and well done to reproduce this one tfs

Hi Daniel,

Well done with this, a superb photo. The light & colour are just exquisite. I've only been there when there was thousands of people thornging the piazza and this photo is special just for the peace & calm before the storm!

Thank you for your visit! I believe you will love Moscow. Great city, big and full of interesting "content".
As for the ISO I used in my pics in Metro: 400.
This is a very beautiful view of Venice, with interesting colour (even for a scann).

Despite the scan difficults the picture quality very is good.
Very nice colour misty ambiance of this evening ? moment.

This is a great composition, and still in great quality given all the work necessary to bring it online. It helps that such a popular spot is not overrun by tourists in your shot, which is very rare these days. I also like the old style lamp posts, definitely adding depth to the picture.
