Livorno is one of the most important harbours in Italy.
Here is a view from "Terrazza Mascagni", a place where people stroll looking at sea and ships.

there's something surreal in this photo, probably how the ship looks as if perched on the railings :) I definitely like the effect. I also like the simplicity of the photo and how the figure of the man on the right balances the ships to the left, and how the gentle curve of the puddle mirrors the semi-circle of the stairs, I find all these details give the shot a nice feeling of smooth motion (sorry, cannot describe better). beautiful colours too, very well seen.

In the thumbnail one the smoothness of colors calls the attention, but soon I discover a simple composition shiningly. Nothing exceeds, nonlack nothing. Superbe photography.

Hi,

a great composition here. The different features all look quite stunning. The soft curves of the waterfront in the foreground, the reflection in the puddle, the big cargo ship in the background. I think it creates a fantastic overall contrast. I think including that much sky works well here too. The clouds top off a really good shot.

Ciao Livia : veramente, I find this absolutely lovely and I think that it deserves many more smileys as it is so elegant and beautifully composed !

(I posted something a bit in the same spirit here ,some weeks ago (of course : another country, another kind of weather and no boats but umbrellas) : not many seemed to have understood, but I can tell you, I am very sensitive to the poetry of this photo : stupendo, I'll add it to my theme...

Hola Livia.
Nice composition with good colors and great sharpness, your POV is very good capturing the curve lines of the stairs and waterfront plus the ship in the back giving a sense of depth to your shot. Nice blue sky.
