Fading illusion
 |

| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
Santa Maria Maggiore is a nice little town in Vigezzo valley, between Domodossola and Locarno, Switzerland.
I saw several painted windows like this decorating otherwise empty looking walls. Also other kinds of frescoes could be found. Carefully done painting has been quite convincing originally, but as paint peels away so does the illusion. |

Nice "conceptual" shot, Kari, maybe correcting the perspective is an idea here, see WS...
Cheers
A.
Hello Kari,
Wonderfully faded colours. I don't mind the slightly leaning perspective, but I agree that cropping the top would have been an improvement.
Regards,
Gert

Hi Kari
Not even a photoshop can make this window nice again (despite the good work of pasternak). It needs a good real painting :-)

Hello Kari -
I like this image because of it's simplicity and the signs of age. It is well exposed with fine details and transitions between the old colors. I think the image may have more impact with a bit of cropping both from the top and bottom eliminated the extraneous elements.
Thank you for sharing.
