Photographer’s Note
An old timber. The story tells, the non christians made a cross sign in a cortex of one elected tree when someone from the commune died. After some time the tree was damaged. The commune continued this tradition on the next tree.
This timber is a cultural monument and supposedly the only one ever of kind like this.
ZenitE camera and Fuji ACROS ISO 100 film was used.

I have never heard about such a tradition, it was very interesting to discover one.. Your shot is very moody.. hand touching the old crosses introduce us to some mystery.. sth was going on here a long time ago.. someone believed in sth very strong.. was it good or evil.. who really knows?

Hello Ilze
Excellent shot! Well-composed and good choice of B&W here.
And I impressed greatly by the camera. Which lens do you use?
