Photographer’s Note

Ok - it's not the "Bud", but "the story is not about the title" as well as "don't judge a man from his hat" =] that was a Latvian saying - also not important now.

So - this picture I took today in Liepaja, west-coast town of Latvia, where, during both World wars, were located military bases, sub-marine ports and so on. Particularly this water channel (that you will see more in the next pic I will post) during the war enclosed one of the military buildings, but in soviet times here were located public ice-skating place with great lighting, classical old public turntables playing some "cool" soviet song and bunch of happy ice-skaters.

Now this is a place where my friend took me to have a cigarette "outside of the public". Yes, rarely somebody steps in this corner of the town and those who do - they grab cigarettes and beers to chill mostly. I saw couple of bottles here swimming in the mud.

I guess that each era gives this location new meaning - starting from the military and defensive, continuing with the fun and public, and coming down to the alienated + peaceful one.
