Balzers, the southernmost municipality of Liechtenstein, comprises the settlements of Balzers and Mäls. The townscape is shaped by Gutenberg Castle, here visible on the top of the hill with the St. Nicholas´ Parish Church in the foreground. Balzers was first mentioned in writing in the 9th century. The name is of Latin origin and means manor or palatinate.
Balzers was a horse station on the Lindau-Milano postal route. The first mail collection station in Liechtenstein was established here in 1817 and became the first post office of the country in 1839.
Since the Second World War, the municipality of Balzers has undergone a decisive structural transformation, in which the areas of industry, trade, and services in particular have developed considerably.

HI Attila, always good to have you back, and, indeed a great architectural shot, with a multiple fugue points perspective. The gradient ND filter adds a nice touch to the sky. Really like the way the shadows create layers within the image.

Hallo Attila!
I know this wonderful ensemble only from the Autobahn when going to Ticino. I think I have to visit Balzers this summer. The a bit haze in Rhein-valley behind castle and church creates a wonderful effect here and the - I think - morning light gives a really beautiful atmosphere to the scenery. A worth-seeing photo, well an "atus" ;-))

That's a wonderful picture!
Sharpness is pretty adequate to the image! Exposure is correct, with a very good balance between light and shadow! It truly looks like a beautiful painting! The place is very interesting and beautiful! The viewpoint was very well chosen and the composition was outstandingly done! Colors are also very nice and attractive! I really like this photograph because it's a real pleasure to my eyes!

Hello Attila,

I'm remembering this icy grasses from your earlier post. St. Nicholas´ Parish Church stands beautifully in your well taken photo. I like the oldest textures also on castle at background that creates an amazing view with giant mountains there. Partial lights and shadows at foreground is very nice too. Congratulations. Beh anch'io ho rallentato di moltissimo la mia attiità qui, ora sto su Flickr. Sto organizzando un meeting a Livorno, dove vivo adesso, il week end del 13 e 14 giugno. Mi farebbe molto piacere se tu riuscissi a venire, saremo un bel gruppo. Se ti va contattami così ti aggiungo alla lista. Very impressive medieval scenery, the angle is especially well chosen to include such a magnificent mountain background. The fading light of the evening adds a soft quality and warm tones to the chill of mountain snow.
A very pleasant photo indeed!
