Photographer’s Note
View of Kaunas old town. The red brick building on the left is Vytautas Church built around 1400. Further away two towers of Jesuit church. Even further - white tower of the Town Hall. Big red brick building further on the right - Cathedral Basilica.
Taken at 16:25 from the hill on the opposite side of Nemunas river facing north.
Camera settings: 35 mm zoom (slightly cropped later), AV mode, ISO-200, 1.6 sec exposure. I was using mirror lockup and remote release cord to reduce camera shake.
Converted from Raw with color temperature set to 3350K. Darkened blue color, brightened yellow and red.
This place offers the best view of Kaunas center. Previously I have posted photos taken from the same spot later at night and during sunny day.
Question to anyone critiquing this photo - would it make sense to crop out left side of the photo, just after the bridge, to get rid of tree branches ?

Hello Linas!
All the artificial lights were wonderfully captured by you in this picture where you picked up the viewpoint so carefully to compose this image, showing such an interesting and beautiful cityscape! I really like it!
TFS - Congratulations!
Warmest regards,

Hi,
just a fantastic shot. The level of sharpness is just amazing...all the details have come out crisp and clean. I might have tried to not cut off the last lamppost on the bridge but that doesn't really detract from an overall beautiful capture.

Good morning Linas!
What a wonderful shot!
I like your POV and I like the tree branches because their create a frame.
You choose an amazing time of day to capture that great city. The soft colours, (the mist?), the incredible light make an excellent composition.
Congratulations and TFS!
My best regards and I wish you a Happy New Year!

Hi Linas,
that is a spectacular view of Kaunas. A little bit pity that the towers on the left glue to each other. But may be there was no way to avoid it.
But the timing for blue hour is perfect and including water is always good for a blue hour photo.
If I was there I would try to use tele lens and cut out just the group of towers on the left. That would give a richness to the shot. Richness and architectural diversity and detail. However I would try to include some river as well.
Thanks for showing us this beautiful town.
I hope I can visit it in the future.
