Photographer’s Note

My first B&W post is made of three horizontal photos assembled with autostich.
Why B&W?
The main reason is the overexposed sky.You can see the colored original version in the
workshop
the second reason:
in the castle you can view more than 500 B&W photos at the exhibition:the family of man

Wow, what a great shot! I really like the perspective in this, looking up and seeing the circular opening, with the sky surrounded by the buildings. Because of the angles and the stitch it becomes a little mind bending, looking in horizontally and vertically at the same time, but that it the charm and the genius of the shot. Well done!

Hallo Andreas,
A very powerful dynamic picture. Not at least by the stitch which looks perfect.
The extreme fisheye effect looks very good, it really adds something to the whole photo. After seeing the colour version you were right...this fits much better.
A very artistic photo...great piece of work..!!!

I don't think black and white conversion can really make up for over-exposure, but it certainly does reduce it's impact so I think you made a good choice. Saying that, I think light quality is more important with B&W than with colour, and if you'd taken this in stronger light with some long shadows cutting across the frame, the shot would have had even more impact.
Photo stitching isn't something I've tried, but I must say it's worked well here. You were using a wide focal length anyway, but the combining of three frames has given almost a fisheye effect - very dramatic.
Yes, it's very good Leo - I stil want to see the clouds though...

Ah, the fourth papagolfade today that i've admired, but i can still resist (inasiajones, pixelterror, xavshot, and now leo) :))
Each have different tastes including this one, what a POV and application of good lens! Something modern out of medieval, and this is irresistable to enjoy. Very, very aesthetic touch. Congrats for whatever you've managed here...

Hello Andreas, I like the pictures you show about Luxembourg. Especially this one in bw is a more uncommon presentation, good technique. I'll hope to see you next time ( or in Asia).

Very interesting idea Leo, to have all sides of the courtyard enclosed in this photo, looking straight up to the sky. I like the spired roof at the bottom; It gives us an anchor point, as does the door. I don't mind that the sky is washed out in the color version, and I think I might prefer that version better.

sehr interessant. Das kann also autostitch! Kommt der Fischaugeneffekt allein durch das stitchen? Schwarz-weiß ist wirklich eine gute Lösung.

Spectacular perspective, Leo. The stiched photos that made you complete the 'circle' of the roofs, resulted on a fantastic visual effect, like a fish-eye lens. The architecture is wonderful and I agree that the b&w works well, but I like the color version, as well. Excellent work.

The perspective is great & the PP work with stitch is mind boggling in effect..combining three pictures to give a fish eye effect and the effect of the walls closing in on the viewer. I think you were right to go for B&W here given the colours.

Andreas, my first impression here was that you have a nice fish eye lens and that you really explored its capabilities in an unique way. Only after reading the note I realized that this is stitched and my amazement went wild. I love that angle in the top framing the tower at the far end.

This is an interestin view on the courtyard of the Clervaux castle more or less showing all four walls.
I actually like the distortion effect in this photo even though it is quite big.

I also like the coloured version , and I am not bothered bu the overexposed sky because it is reined by the black lines of the roof .
There is a good balance in your photo !
