Ss. Cyril and Methodius University.

When we talk about city tour we talk about London Paris, Berlin, Rome, ... Sometimes we forget the other cities of Europe which have also their charme and really intersting places, architecture. Skopje is one of this cities worth for a 3-4 day trip, with lovely mosques and churches, and an interesting old town with a great bazar and some nice new buildings.

The University in Skopje was founded in 1949 consisting three faculties and today it represents a family of twenty-three faculties, ten institutes and other institutions. The present structure of the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University can be illustrated with the following figures: over 50,000 students from the Republic of Macedonia as well as over 700 foreign students are enrolled at all faculties; over 2,700 teaching and scientific staff and associates are engaged in the teaching, educational and scientific process at the faculties and over 300 at the institutes. In its up-to present development of the University, over 100,000 students acquired their Bachelor degree, over 5,000 candidates obtained their master’s degrees while over 2,000 became doctors of science.

Allo Achim,
A good capture of this modern university campus. I like the point of view, which takes in a good spread of architecture as well as the interesting statue. The students hurrying across the place contribute to the atmosphere. Good colours and clarity.

Very nice harmony in the colors. Good large framing. The modern architectur give here a very plesant graphic effect. The peoples give an interesting element of life and an idea of the scale of the place.

The prsence of the people has an effect of scale. The trees are framing well the building. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the architecture of the university. The good luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

The architectural style is not exactly beautiful, or more accurately not to my taste. However it is a well composed image with the statue well placed, facing into the frame. I like the fact there are people included in the scene, for life and scale.

marvelous view of this nice architecture, I liked the inclusion of the tower in the background. Perfect the way the personages are located inside the compo, beautiful sky, framing and light. A version in B&W could be interesting here too. well done

Hallo Achim,
Einfach Klasse ! Standpunkt, Licht, Kompo alles bestens aber was mich am meisten beeindrukct hat ist die Minarette im Hintergrund (als Wahrzeichen der osmanischen Herrschaft noch) und die moderne Uni Gebaeude im Vordergrund genannt nach zwei christlichen Heiligen ! Ein Wahrzeichen der ewigen Kampf der Kontraste im Leben.

keine alltägliche und konzeptlose Architektur - obwohl ich das Konzept nicht richtig verstehe. Solche grauen, massiven, festungsähnlichen Bauwerke für die Jugend und die Wissenschaft, die seit je die Helligkeit und Offenheit vertreten? Na gut, unterschiedliche Länder, unterschiedliche Aufassungen.
