Photographer’s Note

Taken thirty years ago on a Winter's morning. The air and water were so still that I could hear fishermen talking far away on the Albanian side of the lake.
This one is for my friend Branko who sees beauty in people, regardless of colour or creed.

The image was scanned from an old B&W film.

Lake Ohrid (Macedonian: Охридско Езеро, Ohridsko Ezero; Albanian: Liqeni i Ohrit) straddles the mountainous border between the southwestern Republic of Macedonia and eastern Albania. It is one of Europe's deepest and oldest lakes, preserving a unique aquatic ecosystem with more than 200 endemic species that is of worldwide importance.[1] The importance of the lake was further emphasized when it was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1979. However, human activity on the lake shores and in its catchment area is resulting in the ecosystem coming under stress.

Hallo Klaudio!
This picture seems to show absolute calm and peace and a somehow a bit mysterious atmosphere. Colours here only would disturb - though I actually do not like b/w photos (because the world fortunately is colourful ;-)
A really worth-showing photo!

an excellent shot of beautiful and calm view at 1978!
late your B&W shots are very interesting and precious,
and those make me feel good old scenes and atmospheres there.
this one is simple but very artistic,
the peaceful air at that time is well expressed.

I really wonder what this scene would look like in colour! especially with such a reflection on the surface of the water...
Anyway, it doesn't really matter because as it is, in its B&W version, this photo is impressive because of its clear graphics and mirror reflection.

Hi, Klaudio, the lake Ohrid is one of the places I really want to see and at last this year I planned a visit to there in May, hope I'll have the chance to post present appearance of it, so that we may compare. I like the calmness very much here, the reflections are so still and the overall view is very relaxing. I think it's time to get some information from you now, you look away for a long time. Regards.
