Nostalgia purely. On the island Gozo I had the pleasure to drive with an old Leyland regular bus. Over the operator's cab a sculpture of Maria and Jesus was behind glass. Besides the signature Ave Maria bordered with flowers.
98% the Malteser are Roman catholic. There are 365 churches in the small country.

The exposure of the photo was with difficulty, there it in the midday sun outside was very bright and the actual object (Maria and Jesus) was relatively dark.

Hi Wolfgang,

I like this photo especially because it conveys the atmosphere so perfectly...but isn´t it burned in the white areas? Nevertheless...well captured!

Take care, ivana

Hello Wolfgang,
A very good capture of this driver with his bus. The outside is obviously burned out but I don't think that matters too much here as it allows us to concentrate on the central subject; I assume that was what you intended. Excellent colours and sharpness.

Hi Wolfgang,
Travelling by these buses was a great pleasure for my while in Malta. Your high viewpoint gives good attention to these religious decorations. The driver looks cool in his white shirt.

Hallo Wolfgang,
Gelungene Reisefotografie.
Gruß
Elvira

Hello Wolfgang,

A pity of the strong sunlight, but I find that you very nice did, happy that this can on Malta, here in Belgium is this impossible, perhaps a pity, but everyone must can show what he want, and other people must this respect. I like all people in the world. TSF.

Have a nice day,
John.

Hi Wolfgang,
Thank you for your passage and comment..!
Beautiful images of everyday life in a beautiful gallery of pictures.
Good framing and good shot, in spite of the strong light of midday..!
Best regards,
Have a nice weekend.
Patrick

Hi Wolfgang,

As it seems I missed some of your pictures! It's a wonderfully tight crop you have here! It works really well. Yeah, with this kind of light only a neutral density grad filter, up side down in this case, could have done something about it. But I don't think it is in any way disturbing! Nice one!

Greetings, Dennis

Hi, Wolf.
Very original bus decor, and I like this composition...
Maybe pitty for ovexposition...but somwhere, this overexposition could add some "strange mood" to the picture...and I think it make it here.
Best regards. Grazyna.

Hi Wolfgang

You really managed the light remarkably well. Very sharp with good detail. Interesting TE image and statistics. Great work once again. Well done.

Hi Wolfgang,
This looks amusing. I mean, it's not only the statue but the whole curtains around it and all the details, the 30's style etc... This bus looks more like a museum like bus.
As you say in your note, it's a pitty for the light outside, because it distracts from the top of the photo where the subject really is, but there wasn't much you could do i suppose.
Nicolas

Indeed a pleasant maybe tyoical view for there with the pieta and 'ave Maria' on the bus, the driver well included, a well seen typical capture Wolfgang.
greetings
Henk

Nice piece! The Pieta sculpture and the Ave Maria embroidery are interesting. And look, there's also a crucifix!
