Photographer’s Note
This shot was taken today early morning ...
President George Washington was the first U.S. rose breeder.
In 1913, Ellen Wilson, wife of Woodrow Wilson, planted a rose garden near the entrance to the White House and filled it with choice specimen roses.
In 1962, President Kennedy envisioned the rose garden space as an outdoor room, a place where official ceremonies could be held.
The rose is the official National Floral emblem of the United States signed into law by President Ronald Reagan on October 7, 1986.
The rose is the state flower of Georgia, Iowa, New York, North Dakota and the District of Columbia.

Hallo Dan!
Winter is coming ...
A beautiful and interesting picture - full of a special atmosphere. One nearly can feel cold here. The blurred background works well here.
Greetings from autumnal wet and stormy Germany!

Hello Dan,
It's a beautiful photo, beautiful close-up of a frozen rose. I just don't see what the rose in Moldova has to do with American presidents and the States...I don't find the story interesting, and would prefer to read something about Moldova...
Have a nice day,
Sneza

Excellent macro, Dan!
The details are awesome, with the frozen dew on petals, and the strong colors are beautiful, with a good contrast. Very sharp, excellent composition.

Hi Dan,
this rose is amazingly captured with the frozen water. I'm sorry it will soon be gone due to the ice...
Very good depth.

Hi Dan,
Absolutely beautiful, one of the best macro flower images I've ever seen on TE. The detail in the individual crystals of frost is amazing and the deep dark red of the flower is great. What could you have done better? nothing!

Hello Dan, marvellous capture of the rose / frozen, I love especially the contrasts of white and red color and the textures .... excellent picture.
The only thing that I see is the orientation of the framing ... I see it horizontal .... what seems to you?
A greeting and congratulations for the photo.
